Lincolnshire School Games

The School Games is a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in competitive school sport.

The School Games is a national initiative launched by the Coalition Government to give every pupil in the country the opportunity to experience competitive sport.

The Games are made up of four levels of activity: competition in schools, between schools, at county level and a national finals event:

The Lincolnshire School Games takes place on Wednesday 27th June at Yarborough Leisure Centre.

School teams, ranging from ages 7-18 from all over Lincolnshire, will travel to the event to take part in the finals of their county competitions with 21 separate competitions taking place on the day, including:

There will be a number of activities for people to try on the day in the Activity Marketplace including; zorb balls, climbing wall, inflatable assault courses, bungee runs, penalty shootouts, dance workshops and face painting.

And remember! The London 2012 Torch will arrive at Yarborough Leisure Centre on Wednesday 27th June for an evening celebration, hosted at the venue. This will follow the closing ceremony of the Lincolnshire School Games and all children will be invited to stay and watch the Olympic Torch as it makes its way through Lincoln.
