Kings School Take 7s Titles at U15 & U18
By Webmaster on March 26th, 2012 -Kings School, Grantham, recently won the U15 and U18 titles in the Lincolnshire Rugby 7s competitions.
The 7s competitions have proven hugely popular, with a record number of 33 teams competing across the two age groups, with schools coming from every corner of Lincolnshire to the events held at Sleaford Rugby Club.
The U15 competition was very closely run, with Kings School needing extra time to beat fellow Grantham school Priory Academy in the Cup final.
The U18 competition saw Kings School defeat Carres Grammar School in the Cup final, whilst in the U18 Plate Final, Lincoln Minster School defeated QEGS, Horncastle. The U15 Plate winners also came from Lincoln Minster School defeating fellow Lincoln school Priory LSST Academy.
Lynsey Norris, Sports Manager at Lincolnshire Sports Partnership said: “It’s great to see so many schools wanting to compete in the Rugby 7s. Kings School have taken the title again and it just shows their dedication to the sport.”
Thanks must go to Sleaford Rugby Club for providing a fantastic facility and the Notts, Lincs & Derbys Referees Society for providing the referees. The biggest thank you of all, however, must go to Rick Freeman, Director of Sport at St George’s Academy, Sleaford & Lincolnshire Schools RFU for organising both events.
