Play 4 Life

Play - Parachute  Play - Play 4 Life  Play - Making Play Matter

Play 4 Life is designed to help parents, carers and professionals encourage babies and children under five to be as active as possible.

Did you know that children of walking age should do at least three hours a day of physical activity?

Babies not yet walking should not be restrained for long periods, and encouraged to roll, crawl and kick their arms and legs through activities such as swimming, even from just a few weeks old.

The Play 4 Life training course is two hours a week for eight weeks, and packed full of ideas, games and activities that will challenge children and help them develop their minds and bodies in the early years. Participants learn how to make up exciting games from almost anything in the home. They learn how to make kites to use at the park and get kids interested in challenging play.

Courses are taking place across the county and have been very popular. 180 adults have taken part since September 2009.

“I have noticed a difference in the behaviour of my 3 year old son in particular, as a result of the extra outdoor physical activity which the course has encouraged us to take. Some of his challenging behaviour has diminished and he seems happier and more co-operative.”

How can I get involved?
