Clubmark

Clubmark was introduced by Sport England in 2002 to act as a quality kite mark for sports clubs.

Clubmark is designed to ensure that accrediting clubs apply a common criteria to ensure consistent good practice and minimum operating standards are delivered throughout their club development.

Clubmark is recognised by National Governing Bodies as a focus for people involved in sport to support good practice when working with children and young people.

Clubmark offers clubs structure and direction through their forward planning and future action planning. It allows a club to follow the correct coaching certificates in line with their National Governing Body for their coaches and coaching programme and offers structure for internal committee meetings.

Clubs who have been awarded Clubmark have also commented on the following noticeable benefits –

  • Marketing and communication
  • Raised profile
  • Links with schools
  • Volunteers
  • Developing coaches
  • Funding
  • Retaining members
  • Increased membership
