Lincolnshire Elite Athlete Programme

LEAP is a programme designed to co-ordinate the support for talented sportspeople from Lincolnshire.

It forms part of ‘Lincolnshire 2012’, aiming to support Lincolnshire performers make the London 2012 Games and provide a legacy supporting athletes being selected for future Games.

The current UK sports system provides funding for top-end elite performers through Lottery funding, but the tier below that has what could be best described as ‘patchwork’ support. LEAP offers a better, more consistent level of support to that level of performer in Lincolnshire.

LEAP is managed by Lincolnshire Sports Partnership and most of its funding is through officer time and its resources come directly from the Partnership.
