Sport Makers
There’s more than one way to become a sporting hero

This year, why not become a Sport Maker?
Sport Makers is a new programme to make it easy for you to help make sport happen near you- from setting up sport with your mates like fun runs or five a side football to helping out with local sports clubs
- To take the first step to becoming a sporting hero, visit www.sportmakers.co.uk
- Sport Makers can take up a variety of roles in the local community. Opportunities include:
- 100% formal: organising a lunch-time run, or an after-school swim
- Club growth: writing press releases, updating websites, support with Club Mark
- Event related: marshalling or handing out goodie bags at Lincoln 10k or Gainsborough & Morton 10k, Lincoln Cycle Grand Prix
- Informal: with some NGB support: setting up an I AM Basketball or Rush Hockey session
And there are a number of benefits of being a Sport Maker:
- Gain real-life skills and experiences, which enriches CV
- Chance to get to know and build relationships
- Opportunity to make a difference to sport
- Build confidence and self-esteem
- Opportunity to give something back to sport and / or local community
- Meet new people and make friends
- Opportunity to work as part of a team
- Prize draws throughout the life of the programme
