West Lindsey Community Fund

West Lindsey District Council is offering community groups an exciting opportunity to apply for a share of £50,000.

The money has been set aside to help communities in West Lindsey to celebrate the Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee this summer.

It is available to residents and organisations to apply for help towards the cost of celebrations which promote community spirit.

Leader of West Lindsey District Council, Cllr Burt Keimach said: “This is an exciting time for West Lindsey. I am thrilled to officially launch this funding, which I am confident, will support our community in celebrating these national and historic events. I hope it will also help to boost volunteering opportunities across the district.”

The Olympic Fund and Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Fund can help support costs associated directly with staging and promoting local celebrations such as street parties and community sporting activities.

Groups and organisations can bid for a maximum of £1,000 each.

Janet Inman, Chief Executive of Lincolnshire Sports Partnership, said: “We are delighted to be working with West Lindsey District Council once again, and look forward to engaging the local community through the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is an exciting year for Lincolnshire and we’re proud to be part of it.”
