Torch Relay
The Olympic Torch Relay will spend four days in Lincolnshire, travelling through every single district. We will host an overnight celebration in Lincoln and more than 100 local people will carry the flame.
The Olympic Torch will begin its journey through Lincolnshire on Wednesday 27th June 2012, exactly one month before the Olympic Games.
It will arrive in Louth and travel along the East Coast to Mablethorpe and Skegness, before entering Boston, Sleaford and finally Lincoln for an overnight stop where it will be welcomed by a special event organised by the City of Lincoln Council.
On Thursday 28th June, it will leave Lincoln through Saxilby and make its way to Nottingham via Newark and Grantham.
One week later on Tuesday 3rd July, the Olympic Torch will visit the county for a third day in Stamford and Market Deeping, and will return on Wednesday 4th July as it passes through Bourne, Spalding and Holbeach before making its way to an overnight stop in Norwich.
District councils, businesses, homes and schools along the route are starting their preparations for the Olympic Torch, and announcements are starting to be made for Torchbearers along the route in Lincolnshire.
